Benefits of Progesterone for Men:
Hormone Imbalances:
As men get older, estrogen levels start climbing and their levels of progesterone decrease, becoming almost non-existent around the age of 50.
Progesterone is the number one hormone for lowering insulin levels, the hormone that creates fat right around the middle.
Progesterone is the second most important hormone for men, testosterone being number one. It would be a rare experience for a patient to find a doctor who would not say “Progesterone is a woman’s hormone”. However, it is important for you to be aware that men and women have the same hormones. Progesterone is not really a “sex” hormone because it does not create any secondary sex characteristics (breast enlargement, pubic hair, etc.).
Recommended Application: 1/4 Teas (50 mg) - Twice a day in the morning and evening on hairless areas - such as the forearms, back of knees or ankles.
If you are dealing with excess adrenaline; use 1/4 teas three times a day - 1-3 minutes before each meal.
Prostate:
The only known cause of uterine cancer is estrogen. The prostate arises embryologically from the exact tissue that gives rise to the uterus. If estrogen causes uterine cancer, and the prostate comes from the same source, it is probable that estrogen is the cause of prostate cancer. And if progesterone prevents uterine cancer, wouldn’t it also prevent prostate cancer? It certainly seems logical.
Insulin:
Another important benefit of using progesterone in men is to lower insulin levels. Lowering insulin levels prevents fat deposition around the waist as I stated above and prevents hypoglycemic reactions while driving, lowers blood pressure, and prevents adult-onset diabetes.
Progesterone is healthy for blood vessels and prevents coronary artery spasm in men. This is especially true for Type A personalities who produce high quantities of adrenaline which can cause the coronary arteries to constrict, the same way it produces cold hands and feet.
Progesterone is especially beneficial for asthma in men – an end-product of progesterone metabolism is cortisol and its anti-estrogen effect may also be playing a role.
Zinc:
Zinc is another important supplement to use while on testosterone. The prostate gland absorbs more zinc than any other area of the body. Zinc also acts as an aromatase inhibitor, thereby keeping estrogen levels low. As a side note: the eyes are second in the absorption of zinc, which helps prevent macular degeneration, the most common cause of adult blindness.
Est-Less (Helps to Manage Estrogen):
Keep in mind that estrogen is the only known cause of uterine cancer (other than the drug Tamoxifen). Since the prostate is derived embryologically from the exact tissue that the uterus comes from, why wouldn’t estrogen also be causing prostate cancer?
Estrogen is a common cause of asthma, and men often have high levels of estrogen. Progesterone is also beneficial for preventing and treating osteoporosis
Est-Less contains I-3-C (indole-3-carbinol) and DIM (diindolymethane) which are considered the main active ingredients in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower. This formulation also provides the all important antioxidant Vitamin E.
DIM is a nutritional approach to achieving a safer and healthier estrogen metabolism, or of protecting it. Many of the benefits traditionally ascribed to estrogen (protection from heart disease, healthy skin, bones, and brain) may actually reside with its beneficial metabolites, the 2-hydroxy estrogens.
Indole-3-carbonyl, which is found in cabbage, broccoli and kale, stimulates enzymes that reduce the effectiveness of estrogen, thereby reducing the risk of breast cancer.
It is recommended for those women with a history suggestive of severe estrogen dominance –breast cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, PMDD, fibrocystic disease, ovarian cysts – or for those men with high estradiol levels from taking testosterone or who have prostate cancer.
Contains indole 3 carbinol (I-3-C) which converts “Bad” estrogen into “Good” estrogen. Estrogen is implicated in cancer of the prostate, breast, colon, uterus, cervix and ovaries. It reduces auto-immune response and may promote anti-aging.
Recommended use: One capsule per day
